TALKIN' 'BOUT REGENERATION, PRESENTED BY PHILL JUPITUS
Talkin' 'bout Regeneration, Chocolate Films has just completed "Talkin' 'bout Regeneration" a short film where TV comedian Phill Jupitus shows how development of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is transforming the town that he grew up in for the better. It will be screened across the borough of Barking and Dagenham in a roadshow in late May and early June.

ROADS TO RECOVERY, PRESENTED BY JO BRAND
Roads To Recovery, a DVD designed to alert young people to the early symptoms of psychosis, will be launched at Watermans, in Brentford on June 3rd 2008 at 12.30pm

CHOCOLATE FILMS PRODUCES DVD FOR BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE

Chocolate Films has produced a DVD for the British Film Institute to accompany the inaugural exhibition at the gallery in the new BFI Southbank.

The DVD documents the work of New York artists Jennifer and Kevin Mccoy with over thirty short films, slideshows and interviews.
Mark Currie and Rachel Wang shot ten exhibitis in Germany and England in 2006 and early 2007.

The DVD will be on sale during the exhibition which runs from 14 March to 28 May 2007. For more information about the exhbition visit the BFI's website.

The short documentary, SCHOOL OF THOUGHT, is being screened as part of the Serpentine Gallery Exhibition "Dis-assembly" at the North Westminster Community School, Paddington. The exhibition also contains work by Christian Boltanski, Yona Friedman, Faisal Abdu'Allah and Runa Islam.

HEYDAY screeing at two London Festivals on June 3rd
Heyday is being screened twice on June 3rd. At 11am it will be screened in the Birds Eye View film festival at the Apollo West End, and at about 5pm it will be screened at The Jacksons Lane Arts Centre in Highgate at the Northern Heights Film Festival.

DIS-ASSEMBLY goes into production
The Serpentine Gallery has commissioned Chocolate Films to create DIS-ASSEMBLY, a film that documents the closure of an inner city school and the creation of work by internationally reknowned artists in collaboration with the students. Filming will continue until August 2006.

HIDDEN CAMERA optioned
Chocolate Films has just optioned the novel Hidden Camera by award-winning Serbian sci-fi author Zoran Zivkovic. The novel was recently reviewed in The Guardian by legendary author Michael Moorcock. Click here to read the article.

HEYDAY to be screened in two UK Film Festivals
Heyday is being screened at two Film Festivals in the UK in the next few weeks: Kino Film Festival in Manchester is screening the film twice, as part of the BluFire (28 Feb) and the Baby Cow comedy (3 March) programmes. Wood Green Film Festival, where The IF Report won an award in 2004, is screening Heyday in its festival from March 24th -26th.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HEYDAY to be screened in Seattle and Dam
Heyday has started the new year with a bang, being selected into two US Festivals.

It will be screened in competition at the 2006 Science Fiction Short Film Festival on February 4, 2006 in Seattle, Washington. The festival is a juried competition, comprised of distinguished film, television and science fiction book industry professionals, peers and film critics. Judges include Oscar winning director and special effects master Douglas Trumbull (Close Encounters, Blade Runner etc), the Sci-Fi Channel’s Thomas Vitale, SVP of Programming & Original Movies, internationally recognized jurist and physicist Lawrence Krauss, award-winning author Vonda McIntyre, and others. UNIVERSAL TOURIST Preview at National Film Theatre
UNIVERSAL TOURIST, Chocolate Flms' latest documentary about the photos we take on holiday has a preview screening at the National Film Theatre on Saturday 10 December at 12.00 noon. UNIVERSAL TOURIST is a unique film project that utilises photographs and film footage submitted by the general public with frank and often amusing interviews held in a specially constructed film studio.

The full programme will include a screening of short films made by young people on the theme of tourism and a Q&A with Mark Currie and Rachel Wang who will be talking about their experience making UNIVERSAL TOURIST.

This event is sure to be extremely popular so if you want to come along to this screening please can you come to the NFT at 11.30am for a 12.00noon start

The National Film Theatre is sited on the South Bank underneath Waterloo Bridge and is accessible from Waterloo underground and mainline stations.

HEYDAY to be screened at City Hall
On 23rd November, HEYDAY will be screened at London's City Hall as part of the BFI's Blackworld program. The film is being screened alongside BLACK JOY by Anthony Simmons as part of the Pioneer Pictures series.
Following the film, Rachel Wang will appear as part of INDEPENDENT BLACK FILMMAKING: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE, a panel discussion with some of the pioneers of black British Cinema such as Anthony Simmons, Horace Ove and Menelik Shabazz. For more information, visit www.bfi.org.uk/blackworld

UNIVERSAL TOURIST News
The UNIVERSAL TOURIST multimedia studio at The Hayward Gallery was a great success, with thousands of submissions and almost 150 interviews taking place over 15 days. The preview screening is taking place at the NFT on December 10th. For information about tickets, check back soon.

Rachel Wang's new short HEYDAY, funded by the UK Film Council's Digital Shorts scheme, is now in post-production. The film stars Shirley Anne F ield (Alfie, My Beautiful Launderette) and Kenny Lynch (Carry On Loving).

HEYDAY recieves funding from UK FILM COUNCIL

Chocolate Films' new short, Heyday, has been awarded production funding from the B3 Media Blank Slate Scheme, part of the UK Film Council's digital shorts.The film, a romantic comedy about a very old woman in a nursing home who builds a time machine from a wheelchair, goes into production in the week of 25 October 2004 with Rachel W ang directing and Mark Currie producing.

Chocolate feature gets New Talent Award

Mark Currie's screenplay 'The Understudy', based on a story that Mark wrote with Rachel Wang, has been granted a New Talent Award from the EU's MEDIA Plus Development Sch eme. The thriller, which Rachel Wang is producing with Chris Atkins (16 Years Of Alcohol, The Purifiers), is slated to go into production in Spring-Summer 2005.

THE IF REPORT wins award at Wood Green Festival

The IF Report was runner up for Best Film at The Wood Green Film Festival on Saturday night. Mark Currie was presented the award by the actress Crissy Rock (who won best actress in Berlin for her part in Ladybird Ladybird). Rita Tushingham and Ray Winstone were also in attendance. It was a great day with a fantastic selection of shorts screened.

VOTE FOR CHOCOLATE!!!

"Hop On Percy" by Mark Currie (to be produced by Chocolate Films), is one of the nine short-listed pitches to win the XFM/Hype Gallery filmmaking competition. It's a short comedy about two old men who build a "Back To The Future" style from an electric wheelchair. If only they can get it up to 8 miles per hour.

Mark's pitch will go out on air during Ian Camfield's Music Response show on XFM (104.9 fm) from 7-9pm, Mon-Thu from today until Feb 18th. Listeners can vote for their favourite Pitch.
You can also hear the pitches and vote on www.xfm.co.uk from 7pm this evening.

The winning Film maker recieves funding to make the film, so please vote! The result will be announced at the Hype Gallery closing night party on Feb 19th.
